16 17“Tips, Tricks & Slips” with Mary-Jane Pilgrim“Tips, Tricks & Slips” with Mary-Jane Pilgrim“Tips, Tricks & Slips” is a new talk focusing on the good, the bad and the do-overs of her experiences as a mostly perennials gardener. “After many years and thousands of plants, I sometimes think I’ve seen it all — but I clearly haven’t! Learn how to skip some of the biggest challenges and make your gardening journey a little easier.”
Mary-Jane Pilgrim joined the Peterborough Horticultural Society and the Peterborough Master Gardeners 8 years ago to get out of "house jail" after years and years of shuttling kids to arenas for hockey. She loves getting out and meeting other gardeners, and is impressed with the people she has met so far on her horticultural journey. The love of gardening is probably hereditary as she grew up in a large farm family with Dutch immigrant parents. She definitely was not a fan in those days of weeding rows and rows of vegetables, but loves the colour and fragrance of her garden today.
